All routines must be family-friendly. No lewd, inflammatory or malicious content will be accepted.
No copywritten content will be accepted without proof of permission to use the content, including music, dance content, trademarks or any other intellectual property, this includes the wearing of graphic tees or any logo items.
Entry Fees
One representative will need to enter the contestant(s) for each group. This person will need to complete a short application and insure that a video URL is uploaded by the appropriate date to be accepted into the event. All videos will be reviewed for adherence to the contest rules.
Entry fees are:
Individual: $15
Duo or Trio: $25
Group or Studio: $35
Entry fees are non-refundable, however they will entitle the person completing the form to become a member of Tennessee Association of Dance for one year, beginning the date of registration.
Judging Criteria
Those judging for the Judge’s Choice Award will be asked to look at the overall excellence of the performance when voting, taking into account performance quality, technical execution, and level of difficulty.
Because those voting online are members of the community, this is considered an “influencer” competition. The winner in the first half of the competition will be the entrant in each category that raises the most money. Each entrant has a goal of raising $1,000. Each five dollars contributed is one vote.
Technical Aspects
The dance piece must be original and choreographed to either a royalty-free piece of music or the entrant must have proof of permission to use the piece of music online. Proof will need to be uploaded into the application form. Entrants can learn about royalty-free music here.
Video your dance piece. It can be no more than one minute in length.
Load the YouTube URL into the TAD event application form.
