We need to raise an additional $15,000 each year to…
Provide higher caliber training at our annual Tennessee Dance Festival by bringing in master faculty with an international presence. Past master faculty have represented the Ballet Theatre of Harlem, American Ballet Theatre, Alvin Ailey and the Graham Company and choreographers and dancers who work in the commercial field gaining recognition in blockbuster films, reality TV shows, music videos and on Broadway.
Provide opportunities for community members to access professional performances and training by internationally reputable performers and professional companies. Recent companies have included StaibDance, Kizuna Dance and Collage Dance Collective.
Provide annual professional development for teachers, engaging all 66 public school dance teachers in Tennessee, each of the 11 university dance programs, and at least 100 of the private studios. We would like to see the numbers at the Professionals’ Dance Summit increase from 30 to 200 in the next five years with representation from across the state through our efforts to engage with teachers in smaller professional meeting sessions held with our Executive Director in their districts.
Provide audition based scholarships for students to alleviate the cost of attending professional summer dance intensives outside of the state.
Provide college audition opportunities for high school students.
